Bacchanal
Synopsis:
The story of Dominic Hardinge, a brilliant young playwright whose whole
life has been distorted by a horrifying trauma in his childhood.
Its
only – dubious – claim to fame is that in this book
I was doing male rape and child abuse long before it came into
fashion.
Author
Comment:
Never write a novel with a really unattractive central character.
I
loathed Dominic and I’m damn sure everyone else did too.
The
end result was depressing beyond measure for all concerned.
