Pzyche

There were other covers for this book including the NEL paperback from 1983 and a wonderful Chris Achilleos picture that was turned down.

We will try to link to it or post it here.

Synopsis:
A science fantasy novel set in a futuristic universe about a girl brought up in isolation on a remote planet, and what happens when, after the discovery of a rare and priceless mineral, her world is invaded from outside.

Given an award as Most Promising First Novel by the Southeastern Arts Association.

Author Comment:
Grudgingly published by Faber, who wanted me to write meaningful fiction about women in society and not mess around with SF, I still feel the book deserved more support.

Tom Hutchinson in the Times (I think it was the Times) gave it an all-out rave, comparing me with Stanislav Lem – which should have impressed FF (they used to publish him) if anyone there had been able to recall who he was.
